Derek Gloudemans

I've just completed my PhD student at Vanderbilt University studying computer science, where I spent the last 5 years diving deep into the stacktrace on computer vision for multiple object vehicle tracking across many cameras, building one of the world's largest computer vision systems and running the world's largest traffic experiment! I'm very interested in data-driven optimizations to complex problems, and particularly interested in the fields of energy and transportation technology. I'm a dedicated problem solver who enjoys coming up with innovative solutions to any scale of problem, whether it be diet optimization (check out my github!), designing more efficient transportation, or whatever else crosses my path next! My long-term career goals are to conduct cross-disciplinary research in fields that leverage machine learning with domain-specific knowledge to design equitable and globally beneficial solutions to some of the world's more pressing problems.
